The Generic SN9CXXX V4L1/V4L2 driver will be out soon with many more webcams supported and lots of improvements in the video quality.

A trial (time-limited) version of the Generic SN9CXXX driver for *Ubuntu Gusty 7.10 (kernel 2.6.22-14-generic, x86 32-bit) is available from the download section

The generic SN9CXXX driver v2.07 for *Ubuntu Linux and PCLinuxOS 2007is out with some bugfixes and generic improvements in the image quality of some webcams. It is highly suggested that you upgrade. For new hardware to be supported, please wait for next releases.

The generic SN9CXXX driver is out! It supports tons of webcams, starting from the SN9C101, SN9C102, SN9C103, SN9C105, SN9C110, SN9C120 to the recent SN9C201 and SN9C202. You will no longer have troubles with searching the right video application for the driver. Other than the package for *Ubuntu, there's a module available for openSUSE 10.2 in the download section!
